The Present

The ITL Laboratory will be closed (including after-hour card access) in accordance with the Chancellor’s decision for courses and office hours to be conducted remotely.  The health of our students and our staff is paramount, and we have been directed to limit our in-person contact and exposure to others during this time.  Hands-on education requires the use of shared resources, and supporting hands-on education is an intimate process, so the ITLL has made the decision to shut down to help protect our students and staff.

In this new normal, we've developed resources to try and help you while we're remote. From fielding your questions or meeting virtually, to deploying virtual labstations, we're working on innovative solutions to support you in this difficult time.

Additional Information

The entire ITLP staff will be remote--but still available.  We will leverage technology to provide as much support to faculty, staff, and students as possible during this time of remote courses.  Here is some important information:

Hours of the ITLL

  • The ITLL will be closed to all students, faculty, and staff for the rest of the semester.

Access to ITLL Equipment

  • All physical ITLL equipment is not accessible for the rest of the semester. This includes laser cutters, 3D printers, electronics centers, and machines in the manufacturing center. The building will be closed, and our staff will be remote.
  • If you are still in need of standard and high definition 3D printing services a list of comparable home delivery services can be found at itll.link/3DPrintHomeDeliveryResources

Returning ITLL Equipment

  • We will check-in equipment during the last week of classes, and the exact details of that process will be communicated closer to that date.

Engineering and Design Support

  • Email design, manufacturing, prototyping, CAD, Arduino, electronics, sensor, and/or DAQ questions to ITLP-gg-EngineeringSupport@colorado.edu. Your question will be routed to the person who can best answer your question.
  • Alternatively, you can request a video consultation with one of our engineers, manufacturing specialists, or electronic specialist at https://calendly.com/itlp.

IT Support and Remote Access to Software

  • For issues regarding ITLL-related files or software, please submit a support request to http://itll.link/servicedesk.
  • Our ITL Anywhere platform provides remote access to specialized software and virtual lab stations. Our virtual lab stations are configured to mirror those you would use in the ITL Laboratory, with all the same software and configurations. The system can be used within a browser, with no downloads or installs, from any device, anywhere in the world. More information can be found here:

  • Please note that ITL Anywhere is in its beta phase of development, but we are actively exploring ways to support the expected increased usage of this resource while courses are remote.
